FAQs

what is coaching?

Coaching is a collaborative process where the coach and individual/group work together to move towards their goals. As a coach, I’m perhaps best described as a thinking partner, facilitating a conversation for your development, learning and clarity.

How is coaching different from counselLing?

Someone explained it to me once in these terms; if counselling is concerned with your past then coaching is primarily concerned with your future (although will absolutely touch on the past and the present!) . Another key difference is coaching is more of a collaboration, where we will work together to move towards your goals.

how do we know if we will work well together?

I always offer a complimentary ‘chemistry’ session lasting for about 40 minutes . In this time we get to know each other a bit and see whether we’re a good ‘fit’. This is to provide a pressure free space where you are under no obligation to continue to work with me.

what can you expect from me?

As well as a coach, I am a poet and love hosting writing workshops to give people space to process life and express themselves. I will no doubt incorporate some of this creative edge in our work together! I love walking alongside people and I am passionate about seeing people move forwards in areas of life they may feel ‘stuck’. I love listening and am totally committed to hosting a judgement free atmosphere where people feel safe to share vulnerably and honestly.

As mentioned above, I love facilitating writing workshops and similarly love hosting spaces for group coaching where individuals are afforded the opportunity to engage in this sort of work alongside others! I am convinced that through a mix of intentional conversation and powerful questions we are able to unearth the gold we didn’t know we were looking for.
